One of the Greatest NES Games (Richard Allen Davis II in California)
  April 13, 2016

If you own a NES, you must have this game. It is one of the very best in the 8-bit library, probably the best two-player action game of its day, and a fine game by any standard. Even today, it remains unique in its combination of street-fighting and rpg elements, such as choosing from a huge variety of foods and goods to consume to boost your many character stats. (Speaking of stats, your character has more of them than in almost any rpg, then or now.) You can even equip one type of gear (shoes), and you can learn various special fighting techniques by buying books and "reading" them. But you still have to keep the books in your inventory, which adds to the challenge, since your inventory space is limited.

The fighting controls and moves are superb: they are fun, fluid, and easy to execute. You can wield a wild variety of weapons, from rocks to brass knuckles to sticks to chains to trash cans and tires! And even more than that, try knocking down an enemy and then picking him up and using HIM as a weapon! Or throw him at your enemies! And in two player mode, you can even wield EACH OTHER as weapons! Or jump onto your partner and have him run around carrying you over his head!

Of course, if you wish, you two can battle it out, which will let you experience some of the most engrossing head to head fighting that was available on any home console until Street Fighter 2 was released on the SNES.

Don't miss this game. It is a masterpiece.

Me and my wife had a lot fun playing this together. It's kind of like a cartoony version of Double Dragon with rpg elements thrown in to the mix. I wish I had played it sooner.

Great coop beat'em-up, hilarious and plays well. (Josh in Michigan)

Received from JJGames at a really good price, less than half of what it usually it. Got it in "good" condition and it plays great after a little cleaning.

The game is a lot like Double Dragon or similar beat'em-ups but this has a unique art and play style (kunio-kun series). The controls are tight and the gameplay never gets old for me. A variety of weapons and locations with mini-bosses make it fun to play the whole way through. More than just a beat'em-up this game also has a slight role playing aspect with character stats/development.

Definitely worth the purchase.
